The original of this medieval arming sword is part of the collection of the Royal Armouries (object number IX. 2141) and has several distinctive features. The subtly shaped crossguard curves towards the blade, tapers slightly, and becomes wider again at the ends. The grip fits comfortably in the hand, and the pommel has a
