bird vertebra fibula pendant aschheim 6th century bronze Rapier & soortgelijk The blade has a lengthThis pendant is based on an early medieval Bavarian disc fibula from the Merovingian period, found in Aschheim in southern Germany and dating to around the 6th century. The motif shows four bird of prey heads facing left, arranged in a vertebral shape, with eyes of red glass and flanking braid band decoration on the necks. The pendant is exactly the same size as the original at 4. 6 cm fibula. The associated Bavarian grave 10 from Aschheim dates from
