One of a Kind Green Tara by Artist Meena Shakya bells as the female guardian spiritOur statue makers in Kathmandu are doing some incredible work recently, this Green Tara is Carved entirely by hand, then cast using the lost wax method. Over 8 artists work on each of these statues, carving, making wax molds, pouring hot bronze, painting the gold faces and eyes and hand painting them. Meena Shakya, a master artisan did all the finishing work, it takes her months and sometimes years to complete a statue with such intricate details.
