modern marcel : vintage Japanese volcano pendant necklace sun safe 2 internal zip closure centralA vintage souvenir medallion from Sakurajima, Japan's active volcano in Kagoshima Prefecture, anchors this composition. Inscribed 'Sakurajima Kanko Kinen' ('Sakurajima Sightseeing Commemoration') and dating to around the late 1960s, it recalls a time when commemorative medallions were purchased as keepsakes from places visited. Suspended on a vintage silver toned chain, the addition of a frosted bead lends a quiet sense of balance.
